Bahamas
Andros Island, Bahamas has long been the Mecca for bonefish anglers seeking the finest saltwater fish, and over the years South Andros has built the reputation as the best location to try and land one of the world’s largest bonefish. Located in Little Creek, South Andros Island, Bair’s Lodge is in a prime location between South Bite and Curly Cut Cays as it provide anglers access to some of the most remote flats and prime saltwater fishing in all of the Bahamas. With further access to Grassy Creek, Deep Creek, Water Cays, the famous West side and Southern Cays, the lodge ensures the angler some of the greatest saltwater sight fishing in the world.
While bonefishing in the flats is typically the most desired, anglers can also try for tarpon and permit, as well as the occasional barracuda, jack, and one of several types of snapper. Offshore fishing can also be arranged, where wahoo, tuna, dorado and billfish species comprise the core of the targeted fish.
The pace of the life on the island as with the whole of the Bahamas is very gentle and especially in South Andros where the local community is peaceful and very family oriented. Commercial fishing for fish and lobster are the mainstays of the islands.
The Bair’s Lodge’s ability to consistently put the anglers on world-class bonefish is exceeded only by the quality of the lodge itself. With a team of talented and very experienced guides, gracious hosts, remarkable chefs, comfortable accommodations and exuberant hospitality, Bair’s Lodge is a bench mark for fishing programs of all kinds.
Activities for the non-fisherman include snorkeling, bird watching, trips to the Androsia fabric factory and an island-hopping trip by private charter from Congo Town.
